Perfect for thyroid condition
By: Cameron Forge on 9 November 2024Not the usual review. 5 months ago I had the misfortune of developing hyperthyroidism. I've transitioned from low iodine diet to no iodine diet over that timeframe. In desperate need of a protein source without any iodine content I found this protein powder to perfectly fit the bill and solve my problem. It's also GREATLY appreciated that it's packaged in a clean facility as food stuffs with even traces of milk products from shared packaging is enough to trigger a barrage of symptoms you don't want to know about that literally take days to resolve. Thoroughly recommend this product for anyone experiencing hyperthyroidism.

It’s been great for 7 years!
By: Matthew Hart on 13 July 2024I’ve been using the pea protein isolate for around 7 years from Professional Whey, before that standard whey. The pea protein is great, does the job and no strange stomach afterwards. I mix with fruit and cocoa powder.

Healthy food tastes horrible, but it is really goo
By: Takashi Ido on 5 February 2020As some research shows that animal protein may nourish our cancer cells, I was looking for an alternative and here it is! It took me several kilos of the packs before I get used to the taste though. Once I get used to it, I love the product as it is filling and slow-release type of protein which I really needed for my diet. I will try Hemp Protein together with Pea Protein. Keep up with the great work Professional Whey!! I

Great start to the day
By: Ruth Sligo on 5 April 2019I’m dairy free so this is a good non-whey option. The taste isn’t too bad. I’ve used it for years to get an extra 40g of protein in my day for next to no calories. I’m a fan!

A Game Changer!!
By: Genevieve McAvoy on 24 February 2019I had to move to pea protein from my usual Elite 3.0 as part of a dairy free experiment (you have to mix things up sometimes!). I was dreading doing pea protein but as it was the recommended option I ordered it and hoped for the best as all pea protein based things I've tried in the past were awful or barely tolerable at best. This Professional Whey pea protein has completely changed my view and not only is it great tasting (or rather tasteless in a good way) it mixes amazingly well and I'm completely converted. I'm not going back to whey - this is my new shake protein of choice.

With Ice
By: Paul Andrew on 27 September 2018I swapped from whey isolate to pea protein in order to restrict my methionine intake as I have cancer (tinyurl.com/y884eqvg). While pea protein has a nice taste I found mixing it with water in a shaker produced a gluggy result. I get around this by mixing the powder with water, a few ice cubes and a bit of cinnamon in my Nutri Ninja. This gives a pleasant taste, a good texture and a nice icy drink. Be sure to add the water first.

Finally found what I’ve been looking for
By: Bronwyn Bebee on 11 August 2018I can’t tolerate dairy and detest the taste of stevia. Most vegan protein has bucketloads of stevia and a gritty texture. This pea protein blends into a lovely silky texture. It works really well with PB, cocoa and bananas. Haven’t noticed much aftertaste myself, but might be masked by the peanut butter or cocoa.

Beautiful peas
By: Ruth Walker on 29 December 2016I was worried the pea protein would taste a lot like peas, and you know what? It does and I love it! I got the unflavoured because I cant stand stevia and I add a little maple syrup or brown sugar or fruit. Delicious!

Easy to drink and mix
By: Brooke Jensen on 28 November 2016I've tried a few different pea proteins on the market and this by FAR the best. Mixes well, tastes great. Can even use in cooking (protein balls, etc). I mix mine up in bulk as follows: 1kg Pea Protein 300g Glutamine 20-25g Organic Vanilla Powder (to taste) 10-15g Organic Stevia Extract (to taste) 10-15g Organic Cinnamon Powder (to taste)

High Quality
By: Luke Chapman on 16 June 2016Switched it up to pea protein from wpi on the advice of my trainer to sort out some gut issues. This is the best pea protein I've tried. Unflavoured so the taste takes some getting used to ( the Organic Cacao works well with it ) but it mixes really well and has a very clean, high quality feel to it. No fillers !

Pea convert
By: Julia on 28 December 2015First time I've tried a pea protein and really like this product. It mixes well and I think it does keep me feeling fuller for longer. I need to add something sweet to add flavour

Ok
By: Alisdair on 22 November 2015It has an average taste if youre used to flavoured pea protein this is completely different. I use it with juices, the flavour isnt great, but im happy with the product.

Just wow
By: Matt corney on 25 September 2015Lactose intolerance sucks, but this product makes it a lot easier, taste is fantastic, mixability is top notch and as long as this product keeps getting made I'll keep buying. Customer for life thanks very much

Nicest one on the market
By: Brooke Jensen on 19 June 2015I've tried a few different pea proteins, and this is by far the best in terms of texture, flavour, and "mixability". It dissolves well leaving no clumps. It does absorb a fair bit of water (more like a casein protein if you're familiar with that). I like that this comes unflavoured, so I can mix it up with my mood. I add either the Vanilla or Cacao powder flavouring, and a little stevia. Probably wouldn't drink it with no other flavour, unless I was adding it to a smoothie or something. I drink this because I don't tolerate fodmaps. I have no issues with it.

Unsure about this product
By: Atul Joshi on 31 March 2015In an attempt to try and go vegan I have started exploring different vegan protein options and this was my first. It certainly has a stronger taste than the whey or other protein mixes. Having grown up with besan (chick pea flour) in Indian foods, I found the taste very similar that that and that was slightly off putting. Using it with stronger flavoured "milks", e.g. almond coconut milk, helps. On other fronts, it does mix smoothly though it seems to make a thicker smoothie. I think my search for a great vegan protein continues.

Excellent product !
By: Annette H on 26 September 2014This powder does have a stronger flavour than the whey protein but still tastes really good. I found it filled me up for longer as well. The powder has a lovely smooth texture and you can tell it's good quality.

Perfect for the dairy allergic
By: Gilbert Chew on 9 September 2014If your body does not do well with whey protein (or any dairy products for that matter), then this is the perfect non-dairy protein substitute! I make protein smoothies with stevia extract, organic cacao (or vanilla), a banana, flaxseed meal, creatine monohydrate, ice cubes and almond milk. When I use vanilla, I throw in some frozen fruit such as blueberries or strawberries. Perfect! Taste: 10/10 Texture: 10/10 Value: 10/10

Great Vegan Option
By: Sam O'Brien on 23 March 2014I bought this for my partner who is a vegan and I feel that is by far a much better option than alot of 'vegan' alternatives out there that end being full of uneccessary flavourings and result in a bad tasting product. The PW Pea Isolate has one ingredient - Pea Protein Isolate. Thats what you want, thats what you got you dont need all the extras that ultimately dont benefit you. Mixes well and easy to add taste and digest as you require.

too good !

Fantastic!
By: Emma-Leigh Synnott on 21 December 2013A dairy alternative that works in sweet and savoury options, this is a solid product. Tastes great, versatile, and you know exactly what you're getting - Non-GMO, no fillers, just 100% Pea Protein Isolate.

Smooth texture and great taste
By: Louise Rose on 14 October 2013This is a superior quality pea protein. I've tried a few and this is as good as Vital Protein, which costs $60/kg. Once again PW deliver the goods!

Superior Value AND Quality!
By: David Walter on 28 September 2013I personally have a complete intolerance for dairy products - both Casein and Lactose - so whey products are not an option for me. When I did use whey products (before I found out about my dairy intolerance through allergy testing) I was always bloated, had bad gas and couldn't gain muscle or lose weight AT ALL. This is because my digestive system was in ruins and not actually absorbing any of the dairy based protein I was consuming. Since moving to pea protein I'm making great gains in muscle and dropping the weight - but it's certainly not cheap to buy from retail outlets! Professional Whey's pea protein is A LOT cheaper per KG than the ones in fancy packaging. Furthermore, the amino acid profile on Professional Whey's pea protein is higher than the more expensive commercial brands. So you're getting a far better product at a much better price!

Non-Dairy alternative
By: BRADLEY HENDERSON on 16 September 2013i go to this Pea Protein product as my basis for protein supplementation. By adding Organic Cacao (which spreads a long way) give a great tasting, non-dairy, cost effective, CLEAN protein source with no adds. I recommend PROFESSIONAL WHEY to all my friends, family and contacts
(5)
Fantastic in Baking
By: Gabby Pavlovic on 13 September 2013I have vanilla pea protein in my porridge every morning but I thought I'd buy the unflavoured pea isolate from Professional Whey, considering I've been experimenting with protein powders in cooking. This product is excellent for making protein pancakes and protein bread and there are no problems incorporating it with a bunch of other ingredients. This is now my go-to natural pea protein isolate!

Diane A
By: Diane Andrews on 3 September 2013I have been taking Pea Protein Isolate each day for 2 months-( I will be 74 years old next month & have osteoarthritis in shoulders & wrists) - in a banana smoothie with your organic cinnamon & a little stevia + powered tumeric it has helped the symtons enormously.

The Power of Peas
By: Charlie Steppa on 2 September 2013It has now been over three months that I use Pea Protien Isolate... the digestive benefits are wonderful, I feel far more energetic and feel very light and satisfied for many hours and I am very forward in promoting this product to my family and friends. The combination of Pea Protien and almond milk in the morning is something I look forward too - tastes pretty good too..!!. During a discusion about Pea Protien with a close friend I was asked about my blood type... I explained that I was A+.. she was very quick to piont out that my physiology is better siuted to a more vegetarian diet... well you know something ... she is so right ... and that is why I am writing this little story to let other people know to at least give it try and see if it works for you too. Thank you Professional Whey for a great product.

Quality, Value, Taste and Price !
By: Darren Seiver on 25 August 2013I've been using this excellent quality PEA Protein Isolate now for a number of months and I can honestly report that this product when compared with similar high quality Pea Protein's is of a world class standard. It mixes easily, tastes great, digests in a manner that makes you feel full and yet you never feel bloated and it's great how it also provides my dietary requirements as a vegetarian. I've tried many other competitors products and this is simply the best on the market with a great price and smooth delivery process to further add value !!

Great Protein Powder
By: Rebecca Chalmers on 22 August 2013I have tried a lot of different protein powders, and I was really impressed with this one. It’s difficult to argue with a product that has so many good things going for it – I really liked that it was a safe vegetarian/ vegan option, it’s easy to mix, blends well with fruit, milk, water – anything really. I have also used it in cooking, with some success. One comment is that the taste can take a little bit of getting used it. I use a heaping pile of cinnamon when making protein shakes!

Love it
By: Wade Thomas on 10 July 2013As I have come to expect from PW, exceptional, pure, quality. I take this with almond milk, organic cacao and stevia extract. Tastes great and mixes well. I will mention that in comparison to the WPI and egg white protein it is a little messier to handle. Great dairy alternative to have with a snack for times where you might be 3+ hours between meals.
(5)
Not bad...
By: Angela Donato on 18 February 2013A good clean protein source, works well for me as I'm sensitive to milk/animal proteins. The taste is far from pleasant, requires a decent amount of manipulation to mask it. Tastes like dried peas, which I guess makes sense b/c that's what it its.
(3)
Reduced bloating and is easily digested
By: Hilton Gibson on 15 February 2013wanted to get away from animal products particularly dairy. Has reduced bloating and is easily digested. No additives or harmful processing, has a distinctive taste like nuts and I adjust quantities to give thicker shake when required particularly within 1/2h after Gym. Competitively priced including delivered to my door. A good product that suits my requirements. Pass on my regards to the hidden valley mountain packers who look after my order.
(4)
Great
By: Shane Costa on 12 February 2013I mix it 1/2 and half with the 3.0 blend and it does what I need it to do. I think it is smoother in taste than the others. The NZ WPI is still the best though
(5)
Great Price and Quality
By: Steven Turner on 6 January 2013This is a great value product that is seriously underrated by the fitness community. No need to be concerned with cancer/pasteurization issues related to animal products, let alone the ethics of contributing to a planet/animal/human nexus of misery. Higher protein per calorie and similar leucine values versus Whey, much more satiating, alkaline to the blood, and tastes good without any flavoring.
(5)
Good Value
By: Jacky Kovacs on 29 October 2012I was wanting a protein alternative other than whey and was recommended to use pea protein isolate. I bought another brand first to try it out and I was very happy with the results and looked for a more reasonably priced pea protein and stumbled onto Professional Whey. It is much better value for money and the pea protein isolate is good quality similar to the other brand. I would recommend Professional Whey to anyone.

Great Alternative
By: Toby Nelson on 14 July 2012I thought I would give this a go to avoid bloating from WPI. It doesn't taste as good but you can still make great tasting shakes. The shakes seem a lot thicker and I don't get bloated. Overall its really good and I will continue to use it.
(4)
vege alternative
By: marcel van schie on 18 June 2012its a little lower in BCAA than most WPI products but is easy to prepare (ie: disolves well in cold water, juice etc) and digests really well. might be good for those who might feel a bit bloated from WPI. taste is a bit 'unusual'. Tastes like the smell of nut shells but when mixed with a cocoa base that taste matches the chocolately flavour nicely.
(4)
Not bad!
By: Adam Fernandes on 23 February 2012I decided to buy it as I converted to vegetarianism and wanted to vary my protein content. Pea Protein is a great option in addition to soy and brown rice. Taste-wise I can't complain. It tastes slightly savoury and would do well with chocolate flavouring. Overall, I like it. You do feel full for a fair bit longer compared to whey or egg white. I presume it's to do with a slow digestibility. It's a great price too!
