Citrulline Malate 2:1 raises arginine plasma levels higher than arginine itself and has been shown to reduce lactic acid, improve performance and recovery.
The name citrulline is derived from the Latin for watermelon which is the primary dietary source of L-Citrulline. The organic salt Malate is added to the L-Citrulline in a 2-1 ratio, two parts Citrulline to one part Malate.
They work synergistically by making the citrulline more stable in the body, and therefore more bio-available for the body to use. However malate, or malic acid has also been shown itself to delay the onset of fatigue during intense training.
Citrulline Malate 2:1 is therefore ideal for increasing muscular strength, endurance and improving recovery.
Studies have shown that Citrulline Malate 2:1 may assist with:
- Increasing anaerobic performance (Pérez-Guisado 2010)
- Reducing post exercise muscle soreness (Pérez-Guisado 2010)
- Increased blood arginine and nitric oxides levels (Wijnands 2012)
- More efficient utilisation of BCAA’s during exercise (Sureda 2010)
Consume between 2-6g daily in 100ml of water.
Best Results: If taken pre, intra and post workout.
