Further Info
The Fresh berries are bright yellow and very sweet when ripe. The health enhancing benefits have been recognized through the ages -- global explorers carried Goldenberry seeds on their travels to ensure a rapid growing, nutrient rich fruit source upon finding land (e.g. ‘poha' in Hawaiian). In fact, ‘gooseberries' were one of the few non-native fruits available to early Australian settlers
FAQ’s
1. What do Goldenberries taste like? The sweetness and texture of a raisin crossed with the zing of citrus zest. 2. Are they ‘raw'? Technically no, as they are air-dried at approx. 60°C to comply with Australian Quarantine's very complicated regulations. The alternative is nuclear sterilization – and WE KNOW YOU DON'T WANT THAT!! 3. Are they certified organic? Not yet, but the supplier is working towards an organic crop in 2010.
